Project Manager FTTP

I am currently supporting a rapidly growing wireless and fixed line telecoms services & infrastructure partner, they are looking to recruit a Project Manager permanently. They have worked with many blue-chip multinational clients, alongside prestigious organisations in defence, sporting facilities, the public, education, and private sectors for over 21 years.

The role:
The Project Manager has responsibility for all personnel within the delivery of the specific Projects, this includes Field Engineers and Coordinators. Each PM may be assigned multiple clients running a variety of projects and will understand the fundamental aspects of leading build teams across the Telecoms industry. They will also have a Tier 1 background with the ability to run Civils Teams and Fibre Teams.

o Developing and building build practices within timeframes required by the business across FTTP
o Supporting the SMT with build activity updates regularly including site acceptance
o Audit completed works to facilitate the application for payment sign-off process
o Liaising with contractors regarding technical requirements and communicating throughout.
o Dealing with suppliers and sites through resolving any issues or problems about the build.
o Improve processes for continuous improvement to speed delivery.
o Ensure accuracy for design diagrams and coordinate where possible.
o Overseeing H&S risks and reporting on RAMS
o Working closely with engineers to support their training, development, progression, and growth.
o Lead and take ownership of all end-to-end ITI-NS projects.
o Governance of the structure, process, procedure and performance objectives of the client.
o Lead the project team (as the overall primary point of contact and escalation point), coordinate all project delivery activities and ensure all milestones are met. Onsite regularity checks are essential.
o Accountable for the execution of the programme budget and revenue plan in line with the plan.
o Adhere to programme delivery in a way that each project is accomplished to the complete satisfaction of the customer, on schedule, quality assured and on budget.
o Execute the project and chair both operational and strategic project reviews.
o Proactively provide the project customer with frequent programme progress reports, highlighting risks, actions issues, dependencies and changes.
o Carry out thorough customer-facing 'lessons learned sessions' and distribute overview reports within the ITI 'delivery team'.
o Improvement - Assess performance, research and develop new capabilities that can be applied to the specific project.
o Encourage and implement cost-saving reductions.
o Provide approval over day-to-day project activities and decisions on a customer level.
o Respond to new pricing requests for existing customer projects.
o Provide Programme Manager headline updates as required.
o Act as an advisor to the tender team on all project elements as required and agreed for proposal submission, providing accurate records/documentation to include High-Level Plan, PDDs - Project Definition Documents.
o Perform on-site visits regularly and progress reviews with field engineers.
o Pick up on any overlaps within the PMO Team as required.

You must have a strong knowledge of the industry and be capable of understanding and discussing the problems with either party. The ability to adapt to the various internal procedures of the client, and to form close links with the nominated representatives, is essential in ensuring that the key issues of cost, time, quality and above all, client satisfaction, can be realized.

o Strong understanding of Telecommunications and Network Infrastructure
o Background in BT FTTP Build Management (Desirable)
o Experience in managing the delivery of large-scale telecoms (FTTH / FTTP) projects
o Knowledge of FTTP / FTTX / FWA deployment (Desirable)
o H&S Certs (Desirable)
o Knowledge of Health and Safety Systems, QS, Industry Accreditations
o Extensive experience, training and knowledge in a wide range of Telecom equipment including Wireless, Optical, and Fixed Line.
o Computer Literate Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel etc
o Certified Project Manager Qualification. CTPM, Prince 2, MSP, ITIL.
o Extensive Field and Project-based Knowledge and experience.
o Ability to read and interpret detailed Drawings and Methodology.

o Salary - in the region of 50k + company car allowance - (may be negotiable dependent upon experience)
o The ideal candidate will understand the fundamental aspects of leading build teams across the Telecoms industry. Preferably with a Tier 1 background with the ability to run Civils Teams and Fibre Teams however, they are open to discussions.
