Job Description:
1. Carry out visits to Customer sites for scheduled service, calibration and training of Optical products;
2. Attend to breakdown calls, when required, on Optical products;
3. Complete site visit reports, to allow correct processing of Customer orders, via Service Administration;
4. Create calibration certificates from recorded data;
5. All processes to be completed in line with our ISO9001 procedures;
6. Maintain up to date, detailed knowledge and understanding of product portfolio;
7. Attend product specific training in Group offices and with Worldwide Suppliers;
8. Ensure continuous awareness of product changes / improvements & developments;
9. Give expertise, advice, guidance and assistance to customers when requested.
10. Receive, answer and resolve service questions when required.
11. Foster client relationships on an ongoing basis;
12. Liaise with other departments and external contacts as required;
13. Support effective cross-departmental working for business efficiency;
14. Attend Exhibitions / Trade Shows for build and breakdown.

Additional duties
" Attend internal and external meetings and courses when required
" Perform other duties as maybe commensurate with the post which do not change the character or purpose of the post but which are necessary to maintain high standards of business practice as requested by the CEO
" Ensure duties are carried out in accordance with the job description and all established Company policies and procedures. Understanding that the job description / associated policies and procedures may be altered from time to time to meet the changing needs of the Company


" Good level of academic achievement, ideally within a Mechanical Engineering related discipline, or an equivalent time-served Engineering Apprenticeship
" Experience in Mechanical and / or Electronic Engineering
" Experience of calibration processes, including UKAS is desirable
" 5+ years experience in a field service capacity

Knowledge and Skills
" Wide knowledge of mechanical, electrical and software-based products
" Ability to impart training to a varied audience
" Able to work proactively, independently and flexibly
" Good planning and personal organization skills, with the ability to work under pressure
" Proficient computer skills (including Outlook, Word, Excel and CRM)
